Content : This is the #1 continuing education workshop to attend after Bronze Level Certification.

Recommended for Indoor Cycling instructors and practitioners who wish to enhance their condition by using the appropriate heart rate during their workouts. Heart Rate is an easy way to control the intensity of each session. After attending this continuing education you will be able to implement the adequate target heart zones in classes for participants of different levels : from beginners to elite athletes. You will learn how to design classes in different TTZ and gain a deeper knowledge of physiology and  especially about energy & metabolism. Instructors who attend will receive guidance to successfully introduce the periodization of the classes within a club or studio. Schwinn Cycling courses represent training that is fun. Training, in turn, means that various elements must be included in the course.  Get to know training methods and zones and deepen your knowledge of load control. Based on this knowledge, implementation in Schwinn Cycling is child’s play.

Content : The connection between mind and body is not only reserved for high-performance athletes. In this four-hour workshop you will learn everything that will help you in your courses and also support your participants in their daily lives. 
We give you answers to the following questions: Why is it so important to focus on certain things? Why do you have to define your own goals?

Content : In this four-hour workshop you will receive support in the implementation of various creative ideas for Schwinn Cycling courses and you will learn how to surprise your participants and special target groups again and again. A long practical unit rounds off the theory.

Content : In this four-hour workshop, you will get even more support in implementing various creative ideas for Schwinn Cycling courses and you will learn how to challenge your participants and special target groups again and again. 

This course is the continuation of the first part and can be attended independently.

Schwinn® Cycling Music Usage WS

Content : Music is one of the most important parts of any indoor cycling class. This four-hour workshop expands music awareness. Here you will learn to listen carefully and analyze different styles of music. Not only the beat is important, but also the style of music, the energy of the music and its structure.

Content : Music is one of the most important parts of any indoor cycling class. This four-hour workshop shows you how you can put together your music with different programs and how they work. 

This course is the perfect complement to the Music as a Tool workshop.

Sport Motoric Tests WS

Duration : half day / 4 hours

Credits : 3 credits

Content : In this four-hour workshop you will get to know different test methods for determining performance. It is important to know where the current state of the participant is in order to recommend effective and safe training. Find out which methods are applicable to you in practice.

HIIT WS

Duration : half day / 4 hours

Credits : 3 credits

Content : In this four-hour workshop you will learn everything about high-intensity interval training. What is behind the myth of high-intensity training, for which target group is the training suitable and what do the studies say about this training method. Experience this form of training in two practice units.

Schwinn® Cycling Interval Training WS

Content : In this four-hour workshop you will be shown possibilities of variation in interval training. You will be given answers to questions about what training using the interval method means and how you can implement this in your courses.

Schwinn® Cycling Strength & Cycling WS

Content : This four-hour workshop is all about strength training for cyclists and its benefits. We give you answers and tips as to why and which strength training is important for cyclists. In addition to theoretical background knowledge of training principles, training methods and forms of organization, you can look forward to practical circuit training tailored specifically to the target group.

Schwinn® Cycling Echelon (MPower) WS

Duration : half day / 4 hours

Content : In this four-hour workshop you will learn everything about our MPower consoles. 
How do the courses with wattage measurement work if there is a wattage meter on the bike? What is the difference to heart rate controlled training. Here we show you the theory and practice.

Schwinn® Cycling Power Training WS

Duration : half day / 4 hours

Credits : 3 credits

Content Power measurement is objective and precise, therefore power measurement is the future of indoor cycling intensity measurement. 
This four-hour workshop looks at watt-based training and how these classes differ from heart-rate training. We inform you about the influence of various aspects on speed in cycling and prepare you for questions from your participants. 

Attention: This workshop does not refer to the training with the Echelon console!

Schwinn® Cycling Stretching WS

Duration : half day / 4 hours

Credits : 3 credits

Content : The topic of mobility leaves room for many discussions. In this four-hour workshop you will receive suggestions and tips for training flexibility in Schwinn Cycling courses. 
In addition to the basics of mobility, various methods will be presented to you and their advantages and disadvantages discussed.

Schwinn® Cycling Weight Management WS

Duration : half day / 4 hours

Credits : 3 credits

Content : When asked about the goals of the participants, one often hears the keyword “lose weight”. In this four-hour workshop you will learn everything about the right diet in endurance sports and how important the energy balance is.

Schwinn® Cycling Pregnancy & Cycling WS

Duration : half day / 4 hours

Credits : 3 credits

Content : More and more women do not want to miss out on sports during their pregnancy. 
In this four-hour workshop you will learn everything about why indoor cycling is the best way to stay active during and after pregnancy, what you as a trainer need to consider with the participant and what tips you can give.

Schwinn® Cycling Stress Management WS

Duration : half day / 4 hours

Credits : 3 credits

Content : Nowadays, many of our participants are exposed to permanent stress. In this workshop we will give you information about how stress affects the body and how it can be prevented or reduced through targeted training. 
We will introduce you to relaxation techniques and show you how you can build up indoor cycling hours.

FAQ

It is not mandatory but we recommend a Group Fitness certification prior to begin your journey as Schwinn® cycling Instructor. Previous experience as participant in Schwinn® Cycling classes is also recommended but not compulsory.

The pedagogical methods used are essentially affirmative (exposition of contents, exercises and practical work resulting from this situation) and active (a more practical aspect that allows participants to develop their physical abilities in terms of indoor cycling).

In terms of content, topics such as the history of indoor cycling, heart rate training, the correct use of music in training, training techniques and lesson planning are covered.

Subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and balance between body and mind are also covered.

Regarding the assessment, it is composed of two aspects – Theoretical and Practical.

  1. Theory – Multiple choice test and lesson planning – class design
  2. Practice – Conducting a “class”, from its planning/structure in the framework provided, as well as teaching it for a minimum period of 5 to 10 minutes.

The attribution of the vocational training attendance certificate and the SCHWINN® Diploma will  result, on the one hand, from the evaluation of the atendees throughout the session, being necessary the presence in at least 80% of the face-to-face component, successful passing of the written test (min. 15/25 points) and obtaining at least 6 of the 8 items included in the observation and evaluation form, which are based on paragraph (2) of the previous question.

Right after gratuation, each Schwinn® Cycling Instructor receives a unique ID. All credits attributed after each Continuing Education Workshop and Silver Level (Preparation & Exam Day) are automatically added on the respective profile. For more info, please access the our Learning Path page.

The certificate, which relates exclusively to this course, will be issued after the trainee has fulfilled all the criteria for approval, safeguarding the minimum criteria mentioned above.
